Akihiro Nikaido Thin Wall Bowl - Large

$0.00
sold out

Stunning large thin walled bowl by Japanese artist, Akihiro Nikaido.

Born in 1977 in Sapporo, Japan. Nikaido graduated in Ceramics from the Bunka Gakuin College of Arts in 1999. After some time working with established potters he became an independent artist with his own studio in 2001. Now based in Shizuoka he is a highly sought after and collected contemporary maker.

In 2010 he established a network of young and aspiring Japanese ceramic artists who collectively would have a voice and forum to share ideas and practice. As it became more difficult for the growth in young artisans to study under established masters, he spotted that a collective network would provide the basis for support and preservation of ceramic arts for future generations.
